Will Google be an industry leader in online learning?

I had the opportunity to attend an event hosted by the Google for Education team featuring Kelly York and Rosanna Ortiz from Five Star Technology Solutions. The focus of the session was Google's tools designed to simplify online education. Specifically:

Practice Sets

  • Practice sets allow faculty to create interactive assignments for their students.

  • The auto-grading tool cuts down on manual grading.

  • Schedule assignments for multiple classes

  • Built-in calculator for math problems and a space for students to show their work.

  • Feature built in for the student to request extra help.

Originality Reports

  • With a free or basic subscription, instructors are able to run five originality reports. A subscription plan gives you unlimited originality reports.

  • The originality report is available in fifteen languages!

  • With one click you can compare your student's work against billions of web pages and 40 million books.

  • Compare writing from other student work in your organization's domain.
