Learning Experience Lead

Full Time

About the job

The Learning Experience Lead (LEL) has primary stewardship of the Nexus portfolio of resources that support the design and development of formal and informal educational opportunities at the New York University School of Professional Studies (SPS).  As the head developer of inclusive, active, student-centered learning experiences, the LEL aligns all team activities and projects around the creation of multi-modal materials and interactive workshops to facilitate faculty empowerment.

The LEL supervises a team of learning experience architects to develop exemplar course sites, model lesson plans, authentic assessment strategies, and sample course materials (e.g., case studies, presentations) to demonstrate the effective application of human-centered design principles, learning science, and technology-enhanced education. The LEL also utilizes research on human cognition, educational psychology, anti-oppressive education, adaptive learning, and AI-enhanced/machine learning tools (e.g., pedagogical agents) to design experimental pedagogical models and learning experiences. The LEL works closely with the Service Design Lead (SDL), the Director of Operations and Learning (DOL), and the Director of Research and Development (DRD) to evaluate and evolve Nexus resources and experiences that enable SPS faculty to design course-related assets that enhance student engagement. The LEL actively contributes to a high-performance learning-focused culture through modeling and mentorship. Additionally, the LEL is an excellent communicator and collaborator who applies theory, research, and best practices in learning experience design to develop creative solutions for the SPS community.
